A busy communal stairwell needed seating that could handle constant footfall between classes without eating into circulation space. Red Interior Solutions built a tiered bench that turns dead space by the stairs into somewhere students actually want to sit.
What we did
Manufactured a curved, tiered bench in light oak-effect veneer, following the sweep of the staircase above.
Fitted loose black upholstered cushion pads across the tiers for comfortable, easy-to-clean seating.
Built in matching dark storage units at the base of the run for bags and belongings.
The Result
A seating area that fits neatly into an awkward stairwell footprint, giving students a place to sit, work and wait between classes without blocking the flow of a busy college corridor.
